Alentejo today is hot... Its the time of the year when its at its most hottest. Siestas and staying inside help.. The temp is in the 40's.
My mind wanders off to africa during these months.. I remember the visits to the parks and the poor animals only came to the watering holes at sundown.. sometime with hardly any water to drink.
While pondering on your day.. ask yourself. Do I like it here where i am! Do the fields please me. The people I meet during my day. just even the smallest things.. If they please you and you like the feeling.. YOU ARE HOME.
Home is where your heart is. Its not the country.. you can make your home and be at peace anywhere... When peace starts creeping in..you will know it and feel good.. you will say..this is where i belong. I felt that this last few days.. Here in my little paradise.. I feel i am home, that I belong. Somehow, my roses looked even nicer and i imagined i saw mr sun give me a great big smile. I know that this gives me strength . To see the people of my village, sitting in the early evening , on their chairs outside their whitewashed cottages..talking about the events of the day..and how their grandfathers used to be working in the fields till dark.. I see that they are glad that life is easier for them.. They look happy .. The simple things of life make us happy, make us strong and with these thoughts we add belonging..

I started this blog last April .. and never added anything more to it.. It seems that google are continuing to keep my two blogs.. My other blog.. is val's alentejo blogspot valerietilsten rosa da silva. It has a jar of my lovely roses on the front page.
